Two suspected robbers were injured in a mass beating in Dopdopiya Kheyaghat area of Nalchiti upazila on Thursday night, reports UNB from Jhalakati.
The injured were identified as Montu Hawlader, son of Razzak Hawlader of Choramoddi village, and Mojibur Hawlader, son of Manik Hawlader of Balakathi village in Bakerganj upazila.
Police said some local youths challenged Montu and Mojibur while they were sitting on a trawler in the area around 8pm. However, the duo attacked the young men and beat them with oars. On information, locals rushed in and caught the suspected robbers.  Later, they gave the duo a good thrashing and handed them over to police.
