Missing Natore priest rescued from Sylhet

Police yesterday rescued Christians' Priest and school teacher Father Walter William Rozario from Kadamtoly Bus Terminal in Sylhet, five days after he remained untraced from Natore, reports BSS. "Father Walter William Rozario, who went into missing since Monday last from Natore Banpara Mission Market, was rescued from South Central Bus Terminal area here," Deputy Commissioner (south) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Basudeb told BSS this evening. Talking to BSS, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sylhet South Surma Police Station Khairul Fajol said, "Father Rozario was found sitting inside Shamoly Bus Counter here at about 3:00 pm".

Replying to a query, the DC however did not tell anything about the incident, only saying, "The search drive for the missing priest was launched as per the directive of Police Headquarters . . . He (priest) has been sent to Dhaka."

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police in Natore Biblop Bijoy Talukdar told BSS that a joint-team of Natore and Sylhet police rescued Priest Walter from Surma upazila this afternoon. He said the 40-year old Father Walter William Rozario is an assistant parish priest of Bornimariabad Catholic Church in Baraigram and also the headmaster of Jonail San Luis High School at Boraigram in Natore.
