Flood situation improves in Khagrachhari

The flood situation of Khagrachhari district has improving as flood waters continued to recede as rainfall has stopped from Thursday afternoon.
The flood water completely receded
from the affected areas of Khagrachhari district town at morning yesterday but it was slow at Dighinala upazila till afternoon of the day.  
In Dighinala, at least 65 families of the affected areas have taken shelter at Choto Marung Government Primary School and Hasinsonpur Government primary school in the upazila.
The district administration has distributed relief materials among the affected people. Road communication between the Dighinala and Longadu upazila of Rangamati district has remain suspended due to the flood water.
In Khagrachhari district town, the
affected people, who  ook shelter at nine shelter houses  returned to their homes. The flood caused severe damage to different sectors including farm lands, fish pounds, roads, bridge.
However, Deputy Commissioner of Khagrachhari said preparation of  the list of affected people is underway. Relief materials will distributed as soon as the list is received.
Local Law Maker Kujendra Lal Tripura, Chairman Of Khagrachhari Hill District Council Chairman Kongjary Chowdhury, Superintendent of Khagrachhari Police Majid  Ali visited the affected areas of Dighinala upazila and distributed dry food yesterday.
