Female SI found hanging in Savar staff quarters

A female sub-inspector of Savar Model Police Station was found hanging at her staff quarters yesterday night, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Tahmina Akhter. Officer-in-charge of the police station Mohsenul Kadir said Tahmin's husband Mobarak Hossain claimed to them that he spotted the female police officer hanging from a ceiling fan at her room around 8pm when he peeped through a window getting no response from her after repeated calls. On information, police recovered the body breaking open the door, the OC said, adding that they could not yet ascertain the reason behind the death.  The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy, he said. Tahmina along with her husband and two children -- Tanveer Hossain, 5, and two-month-old Mahera - used to live on the ground floor of the quarters.  Mobarak said all the family members took dinner around 7:30pm and later, Tahmina went to her room and locked it from inside. Tahmina, who was on maternity leave, was posted at the Savar Model Police Station six years ago.
