GAZIPUR:  A two-day international colloquium on ‘recent advances in curriculum and research of biotechnology’ began at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) yesterday, says a press release. In this connection an inaugural session was held at 9.30 am yesterday at the university auditorium. Vice-Chancellor of the university Md Mahbubar Rahman was the chief guest and inaugurated the programmes. Treasurer of the university Md Ismail Hossain Mian and Ciew Foan Chin, associate professor, Nottingham University, Malaysia Campus were special guests. Md Tofazzal Islam, Department of Biotechnology presided over the opening session while, Head, Department of Biotechnology,  Md Mahbubur Rahman and Md Ashraful Haque associate professor also delivered their speech. Distinguished guests and faculty members of BSMRAU, Nottingham University, Malaysia campus, Bangladesh Agricultural University and Jahangirnagar University were present at that time. The seminar was jointly organised by BSMRAU and Nottingham University, Malaysia campus.
