Bangladesh role model for LDCs for economic growth: Amu

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu yesterday said Bangladesh can be a role model for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) in taking different initiatives and strategies to achieve higher economic growth, reports BSS. “Bangladesh has established a new example before the world by attaining 7.28 per cent GDP growth,” he said, speaking at the inaugural session of the “7th Ministerial Conference of LDCs” at Vienna International Centre in Austria, said a press release. Amu called for expanding international market access for LDCs to create new employment opportunities and increase the industrial production of the countries. He urged the developed nations to give long-term duty-free and quota-free market access for the LDCs to increase exports. He stressed on accelerating the multi-stakeholder partnerships to achieve the goals of sustainable and inclusive industrialisation. Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) Li Yong presided over the function.
