Munshiganj: A court here on Sunday sent two accused of a rape attempt against a college girl to jail after rejecting their bail petition, reports UNB.

The convicts are Shifat Joy, 22 and Nadim, 21.

Senior Judicial Magistrate of Munshiganj Cognizance Court-5 Haidar Ali rejected their bail plea when they surrendered to the court and appealed for the bail.

Md Hedayetul Islam Bhuyain, inspector of the court, confirmed the matter to UNB.

According to the case statement, Shifat and Nadim allegedly attempted to rape a college girl of Gazaria upazila on October 8.

Later the victim’s mother filed a rape attempt case with Gazaria Police Station in this connection on November 3.
