Stocks opened the week upward trends yesterday as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges rose up on higher transactions, reports BSS. The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Tk 983.49 crore from Thursday’s Tk 870.54 crore and the daily trade also rose to 28.06 crore share from 23.17 crore share of the previous session.
The broader DSEX of DSE closed the day with 30.22 points up at 6,223.78. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 15.24 points up at 2,259.34 and with 1.60 points up at 1,342.89.
At DSE, out of the day’s 333 securities, prices of 95 securities closed higher against 204 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were AB Bank, RECKITTBEN, Glaxo Smith, IFIC and Dutch Bangla while the major losing issues were Eastern Lubricant, RENATA, PHARMAID, OIMEX and SEMLIBBLSF.
Dhaka Bank topped the turnover list followed by BRAC Bank, Shahjalal Bank, City Bank and WMSHIPYARD.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trends with its major CASPI 105.83 points up at 19,301.76. At CSE, 247 issues were traded. Of those, 82 closed higher and 141 closed lower.
