Working towards the goal to enrich the mind of the readers by introducing them with culture-art-literature, Bengal Foundation is going to open up a new bookstore namely, ‘Bengal Boi’ in Lalmatia in the capital tomorrow. To celebrate this opening and promote their new initiative, the foundation has organised a five-day festival on the premise of the bookstore from the same day.
Along with veteran educationist Professor Emeritus Dr Anisuzzaman of Dhaka University, Prime Minister's International Affairs Adviser Dr Gowher Rizvi will jointly inaugurate the store ‘Bengal Boi’ at 4:30pm. Bengal Publications will also unveil a book about a narrative tale of Liberation War titled ‘Stories from the Edge: Personal Narratives of the Liberation War’ at the same event.
The store is a three storied building equipped with a modern café, an entire floor dedicated for children’s section, garden, veranda and other facilities which will help the reader to learn more. The store is filled with old books and magazines for all class readers in the ground floor, while the second floor and third floor is filled with books from both country and foreign.
The festival will also feature poetry recital, book unveiling, film exhibitions, singing performance, discussions, art exhibitions and others. The festival will remain open to all everyday from 11am to 8pm until November 18.
