Veteran actor, director and cultural personality Syed Hasan Imam has been known for his contributions over the years to the field of culture and entertainment. However, from this year, the actor and his family will also be known for their contribution to the country’s economy as the entire family of Hasan Imam is honoured with ‘Kor Bahadur’ title.

National Revenue Board, Bangladesh has introduced a prestigious title, namely ‘Kor Bahadur’ to honour the families, whose all members are paying taxes for a long period of time.

The award ceremony took place in the new Tax Building situated in Agargaon in the capital on Wednesday. Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith handed over the awards to the families who won the title this year.

Syed Hasan Imam has been paying taxes on a regular basis over the last five decades, while his wife Laila Hasan is paying taxes for 45 years and their daughter Sangita Imam is also paying taxes for a long time.

Syed Hasan Imam said, “This is a real pleasure apart from area of acting, I have been honoured for doing something for the country. My family and I will always pay taxes to the state. I am grateful to the National Revenue Board for honouring us with the title.”   

Apart from Hasan Imam family, 15 families from Dhaka, eight families from Chittagong and one family from each district received the titles, except Rangamati and Khagrhachharhi districts.
