Bashundhara Group hosted a reception ceremony in honour of footballers of Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, who finished the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League campaign as runner-up at a city hotel on Monday. With the trophy the players met club chairman Sayem Sobhan Anvir, who is also managing director of Bashundhara Group.
During the reception ceremony, club vice-chairman Mir Samir, director-in-charge Ismat Jamil Akanda, director Naimur Rahman Durjoy, vice-president Golam Rabbani Helal, director of sports Saleh Jaman Selim, director Khaza Raza, editor of the daily Kaler Kantho and director of the club Imdadul Haq Milon, editor of the daily Bangladesh Pratidin and club director Naem Nizam, media adviser of Bashundhara Group Mohammad Abu Tayeb among others were present on the occasion.
Congratulating the players on their success, Sayem Sobhan Anvir said, “It’s impressive to see that Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra clinched the runner-up trophy with outstanding football throughout the season. I’m really happy. But this is not the end and we want to grab the champion’s crown. We must move forward step by step.” He announced a bonus of Tk 25 lakh for the booters and staffs of the club.
