Mash odd looking gesture frustrates cricket fans

Trading brandy words and odd-looking gestures between Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Subhasis Roy at the time of their last Sylhet phase match rocked the country and frustrated the numerous fans of Mashrafe and cricket lovers of Bangladesh.

The incident raised a storm of criticism, which scattered rapidly across the world by the instrumentality of the social media. But Mashrafe’s reaction at post match was praiseworthy. He was seen to pour cold waters on the growing matter. Actually the most senior and experienced player of the Bangladesh team tries to give a full stop on it.

“I think, I should have told him (Subhasis) sorry,” said Mashrafe in his confession.

“I think, it’s a part of cricket. Such type of incident might be happened in cricket,” Mashrafe told media at post match briefing.

“He (S) is right from his position. Like him I also wanted to win the match. Therefore, he is junior to me. I should have kept my head cool because I am senior to him,” he added.

The incident of flaring tempers was happened in the 16.4 overs when Rangpur Riders was just 29 runs away from victory while they had 38 balls in hands.

It all starts with yorker on middle, Mashrafe digs it out to the bowler, who then shapes to throw at the stumps. Mashrafe makes a hand gesture that basically says go back and bowl and Subashis takes offence to that. They come face to face to have a friendly chat and Chittagong fielders racing in to try and pull both men away from each other before things go haywire.

Mashrafe said, “That’s not a serious one. Such things could be happened in serious moment. But it’s not that type of incident.”
