2 visually impaired people get life for murder

A court here on yesterday sentenced two visually impaired people to life imprisonment and another person to seven year's jail term for killing another person with vision

problem in 2011, reports UNB.

Judge Sayeed Ahmed of the Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-3 also fined the lifers -- Chunnu Sardar and Nasima Akhter -- Tk 10,000 each.

In case of failure to pay the penalty, they will have to serve additional one year in jail.

Visually impaired Roni Talukdar was sentenced to seven years' imprisonment and fined Tk 5,000, in default, to serve six months more in prison.

According to the prosecution, the convicts killed Indris Ali, also a visually impaired man, on July 6, 2011 over sharing the money accumulated selling land of a blind welfare association.

Victim's daughter Bilkis Begum filed a case with Chawkbazar Police Station over the murder.
