Though the opening match against Sylhet Sixers will be toughest match, Dhaka Dynamites captain Shakib Al Hasan be;ives that the could initiate their BPL campaign by winning it.
“The first match in Sylhet against Sylhet will obviously be biggest match,” said Shakib Al Hasan.
“I hope that the whole stadium will be packed with the spectators. Hopefully the match will be very exciting and that the spectators will enjoy it,” Shakib told media after their pre-match day practice session in Sylhet.
“I want as if we could fare well and win the match. For this we have to do our works in right way,” he added.
After being formed the most balanced team in BPL, Dhaka Dynamites focuses more on their field performance what it resonated with its captain Shakib Al Hasan’s voice.
One day before the start of the BPL-5, Shakib said that they are concentrating intensely on field performance which will be played a catalyst role for success.
“Really the franchisee and owners formed a very good team for this season for us. It has been better more than the past year,” Shakib Al Hasan said.
“Most of the players are of the previous edition. Thereafter, the back-up players of the team, I think, have been much better this year,” he also said.
“As it’s a big tournament, there are possibilities of players’ injuries. Even sometimes many of the players are not available. From that thinking, some more back-up players have been picked,” he added.
The ace all-rounder said that the BPL current edition will be competitive and exciting more than all the past seasons and the local players will mostly be benefited for it.
“This BPL will be a bit better in terms of the overall BPLs. As there will be playing a foreign player more than the previous edition, so the excitement along with the competition will be a bit better,” he thought.
“The strength of the teams has been almost equalised. Though the formation of the team combination will be very tough, it will ultimately good for the local cricketers,” he viewed.
The 30-year-old said that all the teams have been equally stronger for reducing one team from the fleet alongside increasing the number of foreign players.
“A place has been reduced for less a team as another team was scheduled to stay in BPL. If the competition in BPL would be of eight teams, the deficit of quality players would since been seen. An equal number of quality players would not be seen in the line-up of the teams,” he said.
“Then a team would be stronger more and other team would be under-strength more. For five foreign players, all the teams have been equally stronger. There are 40-42 players, who have quality to play competitive cricket. But if there would be 50-60 players but it would not be better for all the teams for the lack of quality,” he told.
The left-handed all-rounder said that the country’s cricket would be developed further if they could play in BPL on home and away basis.
“BPL would be better further if there would be an option of home and away. As a venue has been newly added if one or two more venues would be added in the next season the BPL would then be extended more. It would also be better for the country’s cricket,” he said.
Citing the venue in Sylhet as his favourite venue, the south-paw said that Sylhet is unique ground in Bangladesh as if it’s an overseas ground, from where they want to start their mission.
“Sylhet is always one of the most favourite venues of mine because of its beautiful surrounding….it is a place to watch. There are fantastic hotels around it,” he said, adding: “The stadium is like the overseas ground that is unique in our country. Overall, the atmosphere is very good. Now we have to do better of our field game.”
