Smart NID distribution begins in Sylhet Sunday

The distribution of smart National Identity Card (NID) will begin in the city on Sunday. Director General of NID Registration Wing of the Election Commission Brigadier General Mohammad Saidul Islam said election commissioner Mahbub Talukder will inaugurate the distribution programme at the auditorium of Zila Parishad around 10am. The NID wing has opened a help desk for any type of inquiry. The NID wing has asked to call 105 for any information about card distribution.

ACC introduces grading system

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has introduced grading system aimed at ensuring transparency as well as cent percent impartiality in receiving graft allegations. “We have introduced the grading system to stop the scope of giving even a minimum favour in receiving graft allegations as well as ensure cent percent impartiality,” said ACC Chairman Iqbal Mahmood. “No ACC official can use his discretionary power to receive any corruption allegation. With introduction of the process the commission is heading toward more transparency,” he remarked.
