‘Halda’ coming to cinemas December 1

Tauquir Ahmed’s latest big screen venture ‘Halda’ is set to hit cinemas on December 1—the first day of the month of Independence. After his internationally-acclaimed film ‘Oggatonama’, Tauquir Ahmed is coming with his fifth film, which has been scripted and directed by himself.

Dhaka Live has news that the film is waiting for clearance from the censor board. If everything goes right, the film will be cleared in November. Director Tauquir Ahmed said, “We are hoping that the film will get the clearance certificate by this November without any problems. Then, we will release the film on the first day of the month of independence.”

The story of the film focuses on the river Halda and the density of the marginalised people’s way of living around it. The river Halda is considered to be the country's largest natural fertility breeding centre of fishes. Mother fisheries lay their eggs here in April or June in new moon or full moon. In the story, the river and its nature, the soil erosion by the rivers and the flow and complicated life of the people living on the river bed have been highlighted the most.

Written by Azad Bulbul, the film ‘Halda’ stars Zahid Hasan, Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Mosharraf Karim, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Dilara Zaman and others. The music direction of the film has been done by Pintu Ghosh.

With the collaboration of Ovi Kothachitra, the film is expected to be released in about 50 cinema halls across the country and also in 16 other countries.
