Apple’s iPhone 8 and 8 plus have been formally launched in the Bangladesh market with an appeal to buy the sets from authorised sellers to avoid having fake or refurbished sets.
Compustar Pvt Ltd (CPL), the authorised distributor of iPhone in Bangladesh, launched the iPhone 8 and 8 plus at a ceremony at its head office in the capital yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, CPL chairman Raquibul Kabir said iPhone buyers would get four types of facilities—warranty, equated monthly installments (EMI) up to 36 months, free data bundle from operators and exciting freebies from various other partners— if they buy it from the authorised iPhone centres.
Urging people to refrain from purchasing fake handsets, Kabir said: “We don’t want to see people buying fake or refurbished iPhones at the price of a new set. Since you will spend a lot of money for the high-end phone, make sure you’re not buying a second-hand set.”
