BCB to find out reasons behind
Tigers dismal show in SA

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan Papon said that their first and main work will be to sort out the problems for what causes the team cut a sorry figure in the tour of South Africa after holding the board meeting with the new committee.

Before doing this as he said that they have to talk with players, coaching staffs, selectors and team manager and hear their opinions regarding the shoddy performance against the Proteas.

”My first work is to sit with the team after holding the first board meeting tomorrow. We’ll also sit with the coaching staffs, selector and team manager. We’ve to know why such performance is in South Africa,” said Nazmul Hassan, who is on the brink of assuming his second term in BCB.

“I’m reportedly told one thing is that we’ve no words about our defeat. But the overall performance was so worse that we’ve obviously some queries over it. We’ve to know that is there any other problem there? We have to accept that Bangladesh may lose against any team. But it’s not a team to loss in such shocking way. We can’t accept this at all,” Papon told media after the 2017 BCB election at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium yesterday.

We’ve to sit with the players, coaching staffs and team manager and talk with them what was happened there. We have not blamed not only bowlers but also the batsmen because our quality batsmen, who could do nothing despite having on this flat track,” he added.

Papon also said that they have to take necessary and effective steps to address the upcoming challenge which will be more than the previous occasions as Bangladesh have to play more tour and series at away condition in the next few years.

“We’ll take necessary and effective steps to mitigate it as early as possible. I think we’d played our maximum games in Bangladesh. But we have to play our maximum games at away conditions now. So, our challenge is more than the previous occasions,” the BCB president said.

“So, we can’t accept that our team will play in this vein what they had played in South Africa. We’ll do everything what is needed for the development of the team’s performance,” he viewed.

Papon said that they have to make all efforts so that they could play better cricket in the next times.

“Everything depends on the team’s performance. After holding board meeting, we’ve to know what the problem was. We have to take steps to mitigate it so that we could play better cricket in the next away series what we will play ahead,” he said.

When asked about the head coach, Nazmul said that they will attempt to bring him back to discuss the matter after shocking drubbing in South Africa.

“The plan we have for the head coach he never goes out of it. We’ve a schedule with him. He is also professional. As per the schedule, he takes break or leave for vacation,” he said, adding” “But we needed to know the opinion of the head coach regarding the tour. We’ve to communicate with him. If he is in vacation we’ll try to bring him back to discuss the matter.”
