Manna week on television

In memory of popular actor Manna, a weeklong film festival featuring Manna-starrer films has been organised on RTV. Beginning with ‘A Desh Kar’, as many as seven films--one film each day at 12:20pm--will be screened till November 3.

Today, ‘Dhongsho’ will be screened as a part of Manna week. Other films those have been scheduled to be aired are ‘Dui Bodhu Ek Swami’, ‘Ak Rokha’, ‘Tezi Shontan’, ‘Ami Ekai Eksho’, ‘Sesh Juddho’ respectively.   

SM Aslam Talukder, better known by stage name Manna, was a Bangladeshi film actor and producer. He performed in more than two hundred films and earned the Bangladesh National Film Award for his role in the film ‘Bir Soinik’ in 2003.

Manna started his career in 1984 after he was discovered through a talent search show by the National Film Development Corporation of Bangladesh.

Manna died on February 17 in 2008 following a heart attack.
