A court  sentenced a woman to death on Sunday for pouring acid into the mouth of a 49-day old baby boy in Bagharpara upazila. Additional District and Session Judge Sharif Hossain handed down the verdict. According to court sources, convict Rina Rani Tarafder,  who have no child, tried to kill her sister’s child Durjoy by pouring acid into his mouth on January 11, 2005 over a family feud. Iti Rani Tarafder, mother of the victim, filed a case with Bagharpara police on May 7 in 2007.
