BCB yet to get govt clearance to send security team to Pakistan

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is yet to get the clearance of the government to send a security team to assess the condition of Pakistan in which the Bangladesh women’s team is proposed to play a short series, consisting three ODIs and as many Twenty20 matches.
The series is scheduled to be held from August 31-September 9 but a new twist is added following the death of Punjab province Home Minister Shuja Khanzada who was assassinated on Sunday.

After that new incident, the BCB made a cautious move in commenting about the proposed tour. The players of the women’s team however had already showed their reservation about the tour in Pakistan but kept their confidence on BCB, saying that the board would see their interest always. “We can’t leave them in any risky situation,” said the BCB’s women’s wing chairman M Awal Bhulu. “We won’t send them in Pakistan if we are not hundred percent sure about the security.”
BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury said that they are yet to get any clearance about sending the security team there. “After assessing the security condition by our own security team, we can only talk about that. We are yet to get any clearance about sending the security team.”
