500 illegal  gas lines 
snapped in Gazipur

A team of Titas gas authorities disconnected more than 500 illegal gas lines of different residential houses in Hotapara, Bhobanipur and Baniarchala areas of Gazipur on Thursday. Titas gas with the help of district administration disconnected those lines.  The authorities also fined Tk 45,000 to four house owners  for using   gas illegally. Manager of Titas gas transmission and distribution company Gazipur regional office engineer Shahabuddin  said,  a team of Titas gas Gazipur office conducted a raid of the areas and disconnected more than 500 lines  from 200 houses. They also removed about 300 meters of pipes that were used for illegal connection. Later, a mobile court was conducted led by   executive magistrate Farjana Nasreen. The court fined at Tk  20,000 to Mohammed Mokbul Hossain of Baniarchala area, Tk 5,000 to Mohammed Fazlur Rahman of same area, Tk 5,000 to Nasima Khatun of Bhobanipur area and Tk 5,000 to Mohammed Obaidul of same area.

Manager of Titas gas transmission and distribution company Gazipur regional office engineer Shahabuddin and  Jahangir Alam, deputy manager Sabiul Awal and Khorshed Alam, assistant engineer Mirza Mamunur Rahman, Abu Aiyub and sub-assistant engineer Rezaul Haque were present during the operation.
