Mahbub Anam, vice president of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), said that the board has plans to build a national cricket academy with international standard and facilities to develop the cricket of Cox’s Bazar area. “We have built an international cricket stadium in Cox’s Barzar, which will host a good number of matches of the next ICC Under-19 World Cup.  The local youth will play two matches there,” said Mahbub Anam yesterday.
“We have plans to erect a national Cricket academy with international standard and facilities to develop the cricketing atmosphere of the Cox’s Bazar areas,” Anam told this at a reception programme, where he was present as the chief guest in lieu of BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon.
“I urge the youth to carry on the momentum that they showcased in the current and can break the barren of the World Cup title in the upcoming flagship event,” he added. Mishuk Warriors Cox’s Bazar organized the reception ceremony in honour of victorious Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team, who wrapped up three straight home and away series this year.
Citing the name of the 2004 World Cup, former skipper Roquibul Hasan said that Bangladesh missed to cross the hurdle of the cup tournament despite being stayed at the close door of it. “We missed to win the cup tournament though Bangladesh had to pacify with plate tournament four times in their playing history,” said Roquibul Hasan.
Bangladesh Under-19 team captain Mehidy Hassan Miraj in his reaction said that they seek the strong support of the country’s people so that they can present them the maiden taste of World Cup victory. Mishuk Warriors Cox’s Bazar president Jasim Uddin along with BCB directors and winning team’s players and coaching staffs were also present on the occasion.
