Multi-award winning film ‘Moner Manush’ will be aired today at 2:40pm on Channel i. A joint venture by India and Bangladesh, the film is based on the popular novel also titled ‘Moner Manush’ by Sunil Gangopadhyay and is directed by Goutam Ghose. The film is a biographical musical drama film which delves into the life and philosophy of Lalon, a noted spiritual leader, poet and folk singer of Bengal in the 19th century.
The story of the film shows Rabindranath Tagore's elder brother Jyotirindranath Tagore, met the octogenarian Lalan Fakir and drew a portrait of the poet saint in the former houseboat afloat on the Padma River. Jyotirindranath, an urban intellectual, exchanges views with the man of native wisdom.
The star-studded cast of the film includes Prasenjit Chatterjee as Lalan fakir, Chanchal Chowdhury, Paoli Dam, Champa, Raisul Islam Asad, Shubhra Kundu, Rokeya Prachy and many more.
