“Sea rice” experiments by a Chinese research and development team have seen bumper harvests this autumn.

The research group is lead by Yuan Longping, an academic from the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

This marks the success of the group’s first pilot program and a major breakthrough in turning the vast expanse of coastal saline-alkali soil into fertile land. (Xinhua)
