Commerce Minister Tofail Ahamed has said all sorts of measures are being taken to check river erosion to save lives and property in Bhola district.
He was addressing a big public gathering near the erosion-affected Ilisha ferry terminal on the Meghna river bank yesterday. Water Resources Minister Anisul Islam Mahamud was also present.
Water Resources Minister said Prime Minister Sheaikh Hasina has directed them to save lives and properties of the people from the erosion at any cost.
The minister asked the  local Water Board executive engineer to take the measures against the erosion. Ali Azam Mukul MP and Chairman of Water Development Board were also present there.
