A performance and video installation titled ‘Boat to Heaven’ by Kamruzzaman Shadhin will take place tomorrow at 6:30pm on the premises of Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) in the capital’s Dhanmondi area. Kamruzzaman Shadhin is a visual artist born and based in Bangladesh working in the mediums of installation, video and performance art. His work mostly focuses on environmental and social issues. His art projects are often created through public participation and are exhibited in public spaces where the main audiences are the general public and surrounding communities.
Boat to Heaven: Who am I? Where is my heaven? How does a person reach safety and happiness? Our perception of heaven varies due to our diverse perspectives. We all ride the boat to the unknown in search of our safe and beautiful heaven. But do we ever reach there?
