PM clears urgent files
online from USA

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, now in the United States, has cleared a number of important files digitally, reports UNB. “The Prime Minister has cleared a number of urgent electronic files (e-files) from the US capital of Washington in the last two days,” an official at the PM’s Press Wing told the news agency yesterday.

He said the Prime Minister earlier instructed her office to send all the urgent files to her during her stay in the USA. “Following the directives, the officials concerned of the Prime Minister’s Office emailed important files to the Prime Minister, taking advantage of the digitisation initiatives of the present government under her able leadership,” the official added. Sheikh Hasina reached Washington from New York on Friday afternoon after attending the 72nd session of the UNGA. After staying in Washington for a week, the Prime Minister will leave for home on

September 29. She will return home on October 2 via London. Sheikh Hasina arrived in New York on September 17 to join the 72nd session of the UNGA. The Prime Minister addressed the UNGA on the afternoon of September 21 calling upon the United Nations and the international community to take immediate and effective measures for a permanent solution to the protracted Rohingya crisis.

She also placed a five-point proposal to this end at the UN.
