Health and Family Welfare Minister and Awami League Presidium Member Mohammed Nasim yesterday said there is no need to forge a fresh national unity over Rohingya issue as it exists in the country, reports BSS. "National Unity has already been forged over the Rohingya crisis as leaders and workers of all political parties are going Cox's Bazar to provide relief goods and have praised the government steps," the minister said replying to the call of BNP to create national unity in the Rohingya crisis. The health minister came up with the remarks while speaking at the 29th national council of Bangladesh Society of Ultrasonography (BSU) at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital.
Nasim said people from home and aboard stood beside the Rohingya refugee people responding to the call of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the acute humanitarian crisis.
"Entire world welcomed the steps of Bangladesh government that have been taken over the Rohingya issue," he said. The minister urged the United Nations and superpowers of the world to put pressure on Myanmar to bring back the Rohingya refugees.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has provided shelter to Rohingya people in the humanitarian ground. But Bangladesh cannot provide them shelter for long time. They must be brought back to their own country," Mohammed Nasim said. Bangladesh Society of Ultrasonography President Dr Mizanul Hasan chaired the seminar while Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council Chairman Mohammad Shahidullah and BSU General Secretary Dr Mahbubul Haque, among others, addressed the council.
