Bangabandhu Gold Cup International Football Tournament has become uncertain to take place in schedule time as the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is yet to confirm any specific date.
Bangabandhu Gold Cup tournament was supposed to be held in March 11-23 in accordance with the BFF’s yearly calendar which they announced earlier of this year but failed to organise on that time. After missing the earlier schedule BFF failed another two schedules, they announced later on and finally they decided to hold the tournament in December 18 to 31, till now the schedule is remain.
BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag also agreed with that while talking to this correspondent yesterday said that might be they would have to defer for eight to 10 days.
Shohag said, “Actually, due to hectic schedule of domestic competition and some international schedules of the age group football competitions, we could not follow our calendar perfectly, therefore the Bangladesh Premier League Football is also taking time to complete and we are really forced to change the schedule of the Bangabandhu Cup for time and again.”
“But it is sure that the Bangabandhu Gold Cup will take place, may be it would defer for few days, as right now we are thinking about the league, as the last three rounds of the first leg of the league are yet to be completed.”
“As we designed to complete the premier league by the first week of December and we will be able to organize the Bangabandhu Cup from the last week of December and by this time we will contact with all the interested countries from abroad.”
