The arrestee, son of Khorshed Alam, a retired assistant sub inspector of police, of Rajapur village of Patuakhali district, was commander of ‘Brigade Ad-Dar-e-Kutni’ of the neo-JMB’s Sarwar-Tamim group and an wanted accused in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act with Banani Police Station, he added.

Jibil, who passed BBA from Darul Ihsan University, joined the Sarwar-Tamim Group in 2015. He was a ramp model and known as Mehedi Hasan in the modeling arena.

During preliminary interrogation, the arrestee confessed his links with the Gulshan Holey Artisan Bakery militants and Kalyanpur militant hideout, the RAB official said, adding Jibil has been entrusted with the task of recruiting new members, collecting financial assistance and looking after organisational matters for the militant group.

The evidences collected from the scene and information extracted from the arrestee made it clear that the ‘Brigade Ad-Dar-e-Kutni’ has the capacity of carrying out subversive acts, he also said.

Jibil, who was the youngest among four sisters and two brothers, joined modeling when he was a higher secondary student. He got married with a girl of Dhaka and she is now pregnant.
