CHITTAGONG: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive detained two persons with counterfeit notes worth Tk 62, 000 in Bakalia area of the city on Tuesday.
The arrestees were Mizanur Rahman, 24, and Md Quadir, 29.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB nabbed Mizan and Quadir from Hotel Zaman in Bahadderhat area of the city and seized counterfeit notes.  
Of the seized counterfeit notes, 52 were of Tk 1000 denominations and 20 notes of Tk 500 denominations.  The arrestees confessed that they had been running business of fake notes in the guise of cloth traders in the city for long.
