Three law enforcement vessels pulled into China’s Guanlei Port on August 25, marking the successful completion of the 61st patrol along the Lancang-Mekong River. The patrol was jointly carried out by personnel from China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand.
During the patrol, commanders from all sides had an in-depth exchange of views on the operation, which targets cross-border crimes in the region, as well as the action plan for future drills.
“Any time we hear the siren of the joint patrol force, we know we are safe. We all hope we can come and visit again soon,” said a Chinese tourist traveling along the Mekong with his family.
The 61st joint patrol covered 604 kilometres across 34 hours of operations, inspecting a total of 23 motor vehicles and 49 people.
