MEHERPUR: A court here yesterday sentenced three persons to life term imprisonment for killing a man named Nurul Huda in Gangni upazila of the district in 2010, reports BSS. District Session and Additional judge TM Musa pronounced the verdict. The convicts who got life term imprisonment are Mojammel Haque, 55, Aiub Ali, 52, and Md Bablu. Bablu’s details could not be known immediately.

The prosecution story, in brief, is that on June 13, 2010 the convicts hacked Nurul Huda at Baniapukur village when he was returning home from his crop’s field. He was admitted to Gangni Upazila Health Complex where Nurul died under treatment.

Next day, the victim’s nephew Md Alom filed a case accusing 11 people following the murder.

Police, after investigation, submitted charge-sheet on September 16.

Later, the judge after examining the witnesses and relevant evidences ordered the verdict.
