Though the National Film Award winning actress Popy appeared in several tele-dramas and telefilms during last Eid-ul-Fitr, she didn’t work for any tele-dramas or telefilms this Eid. Still, she can be watched on the small screen during this Eid-ul-Azha. Dhakalive has news that Popy will be seen appearing in the Eid special ‘Ananda Mela’. She has performed in the show with a song titled ‘Jibon Phuriye Jabe Bhalobasa Phurobe Na’ from the film ‘Bidroho Charidike’ directed by Mohammad Hannan.

Popy said about performing in ‘Ananda Mela’, “After six-seven years, I have performed in ‘Ananda Mela’. Since my childhood, I felt a sense of fascination for it. It was like Eid special magazine show meant one and only ‘Ananda Mela’. For this reason, whenever I am offered to work in it, I always try to do it. I thank to everyone related to ‘Ananda Mela’.”

‘Ananda Mela’ will be aired on the day of Eid-ul-Azha on Bangladesh Television after the 10pm news.

On the other hand, Popy-starrer new film titled ‘Sona Bondhu’ directed by Jahangir Alam Sumon is set to hit cinemas during Eid-ul-Azha. Popy said, “I cordially request the audience to go to cinema halls to enjoy my new film ‘Sona Bondhu’.”

After creating a buzz with her film ‘Kuli’, Popy acted in several popular films in her career, such as ‘Amar Ghor Amar Beheshto’, ‘Bidroho Charidike’, ‘Dujon Dujonar’, ‘Khepa Basu’, ‘Karagar’, Bostir Rani Sufia’, ‘Bidrohi Padma’, ‘Rani Kothir Baki Itihas’, ‘Megher Kole Roodh’, ‘Gangajatra’, Garments Konna’ and others.

To note, Popy won the National Film Awards for three times till now for her unique performance.
