Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) have fixed 1,174 spots for slaughtering sacrificial animals during the upcoming Eid ul-Azha, reports UNB.
Chief wastage management officer of DNCC Air Commodore Shafikul Islam told the news agency yesterday that the DNCC has selected 625 places for slaughtering animals.
One imam and one butcher will be available in each of the slaughtering spots, he said.
DSCC chief asset officer Aminul Islam told the news agency that they have designated 549 spots for the slaughtering of sacrificing animals where a total of 592 imams and 566 butchers will be available.
Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain urged the city dwellers to use the facilities provided by the authorities for sacrificing animals.
The government is following the process of animal sacrificing for the last few years to ease the process of waste management after the slaughtering of sacrificial animals, he added.
