Doctors have decided to reduce the dose of sedatives for Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq, currently under treatment in London, as his condition is said to be improving, reports UNB. It is hoped that gradually tapering the dose of sedatives given to the mayor will make him regain consciousness on his own physical capacity, precluding any need for artificial support, his personal secretary Mizanur Rahman revealed yesterday.
A medical board comprising specialised physicians is expected to sit in a day or two to decide the next course of action in the businessman-turned-mayor's treatment, added Mizanur.
Annisul, suffering bouts of dizziness and loss of balance over the last two months, was admitted to the hospital on August 13 where he was diagnosed with cerebral vasculitis. The DNCC mayor flew to London in the last week of July on a personal tour.
