Prime Minister's Energy Advisor Dr. Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury yesterday urged people working in the power sector to remain alert to security threats facing power plants and other establishments in the sector, reports UNB. He made the call while addressing a discussion meeting and Dua Mahfil on the occasion of "National Mourning Day 2017" at Bidyut Bhaban in the city.
Power Development Board (PDB) organised the function, with its member Zahurul Haque in the chair. It was also addressed by State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid, power secretary Dr. Ahmad Kaikuas, PDB chairman Khaled Mahmood and CBA president of PDB Zahirul Islam Chowdhury and general secretary Mohammad Alauddin Mia.
Tawfiq-e-Elahi recalled what he termed 'tremendouys advances' the country made as a newly independent nation under Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. But the collaborators of Pakistani rulers could not accept.
"Those forces killed Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib as a way to avenge their defeat," he said. State Minister Nasrul Hamid said the ideology of Bangabandhu still inspires Bangladeshis to work for the nation.
Urging all to make Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's hand stronger, he said it is needed for the sake of unveiling the faces of the killers of Bangabandhu.
He said all have to work together to implement the dreams of the Father of the Nation.
