Flood victims to be rehabilitated: Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader yesterday said the government will take steps for rehabilitation of the flood-affected people, reports UNB from Dinajpur. “The Prime Minister will visit the flood-hit areas and mitigate your sufferings. She’ll compensate you for the losses,” he said while addressing the flood victims before distributing relief materials among them at Raghunathpur High School compound in Biral upazila.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said the flood-hit people will get back everything they lost due to the flood.

Mentioning that the government is working to rehabilitate the flood victims, he said, “We’ve not come here for a photo session.”

Terming BNP as a ‘part of complaint’, Quader said the politics of Khaleda Zia is now confined to her vanity bag on the bank of the Thames Rivers in London. “She had announced to wage a movement after Eid. Eight years have gone by but there’s no movement,” he said.

AL leader Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Dinajpur-6 MP Md Shibli Sadique were, among others, present.
