Khaleda undergoes eye surgery

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has undergone a successful eye surgery at a London hospital. “Madam (Khaleda) has undergone a successful eye surgery. Doctors of Moorfields Eye Hospital conducted the surgery on her right eye at 6:30pm on Tuesday. She was now well and recuperating,” said BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.  Talking to reporters at the party’s central office, he said BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman and his family members were present at the hospital during the operation. The BNP leader sought blessings of people including party l leaders and activists for early recovery of the party chief.

Khaleda went to the London on July 15 for treatment of her eyes and legs. She is staying at Tarique Rahman’s Kingston residence. Tarique’s wife Dr Jobaida Rahman, daughter Zaima Rahman, Sharmila Rahman, wife of late Arafat Rahman Koko, and their two daughters are also living at the same house.  Khaleda is epxtected to return home after completing of her treatment and celebration of Eid-ul-Azha with her family members in London. Earlier in 2015, she went to London and stayed for two months for treatments purposes.
