Pabna: A young man was hacked to death and another was injured by some unidentified miscreants in Dilalpur Beltola area in the district town on Monday night, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as SA Raihan Tonmoy, 27, son of AA Ziaul Kabir Rintu of the area.

The injured is Rana Ahmed, 27, son of Abdul Mazid of Radhanagar village.Abdur Razzak, officer-in-charge of Pabna Sadar Police Station, said Tonmoy and Rana were hacked indiscriminately by some miscreants at 10:00 pm when they were walking along Beltola road, leaving them critically injured.

Locals rushed them to Pabna General Hospital.

Later, Tonmoy succumbed to his injuries on his way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital at 12am.

The reasons behind the incident could not be known immediately.Police suspect the victims came under attack following previous enmity. A case was filed in this connection, added the OC.
