Brahmanbaria: Mentioning that Bangladesh is a role model of development around the globe, Law Minister Anisul Huq on Friday said the country is now gaining recognition as a middle-income country, reports UNB.
"We've been able to end the trial for the murder of Bangabandhu and his relatives on August 15.
We have taken Bangladesh at the place of dignity and respect," he said.
The minister came up with the remarks while addressing as chief guest at the T Ali Degree College in Kasba on the occasion of the final round of the Bangabandhu and Bangamata Primary School Football Tournament in the college ground.
The government wants to develop children through cultural activities along with education, said Anisul, adding that the Sheikh Hasina-led government will do all that is needed to ensure children's education.
Presided over by Kasba Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hasina Islam, the programme was attended, among others, by upazila parishad chairman Anisul Haque Bhuiyan and its vice chairman Shaheen Sultana.
Later, the minister inaugurated a three-day fruit-tree fair at the upazila parishad supermarket, arranged by the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) in the upazila.
