The chief coordinator of Bangladesh government’s SDG implementation, Abul Kalam Azad, presented the report titled ‘Eradicating poverty and promoting prosperity in a changing world’ at the ongoing voluntary review session of a high-level political forum at the UN on Monday, according to a press release forwarded by the Bangladesh permanent mission at the global body yesterday. Some 44 countries will submit their national reports at the ministerial-level session taking place between July 17 and 19. Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal is leading the Bangladesh delegation. Bangladesh’s SDG achievements in last two years were presented through a multi-media presentation. The report contains progress in seven SDG objectives like poverty eradication, hunger, health and welfare, gender equality, industrial innovation and infrastructure, water resources, and world partnership. The presentation also contains the country’s development in various socio-economic developments. During the presentation, it was shown that the poverty level has come down significantly in the country as compared to 1991.
