Woman found dead in Pabna
Pabna: An unidentified woman was found dead in a water body in Baukola area of Atghoria upazila early yesterday, reports UNB.
Anwarul Islam, officer-in-charge of Atghoria Police Station, said that locals spotted the body of the woman, aged around 20, in the water body early in the morning and informed police.
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Indian national arrested with foreign currencies

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested an Indian national along with huge foreign currencies from Benapole check post yesterday morning.
The arrestee was identified as Kalim Uddin, 32, son of Muslim Sheikh, hailing from North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.
Nayeb Subedar Monir Hossain, commander of Benapole ICP Camp, said that on secret information a team of BGB challenged Kalim, passport no- 3247608, came from India, while he was crossing Benapole check post passenger terminal.
After searching his bag, BGB recovered 57,500 Saudi riyal, 800 rupee and 4,600 Bangladeshi taka from his bag.
Two die from electrocution

Two people died in separate incidents of electrocution in the district town and Kachua upazila of the district.
An auto-bike driver, M Rahim Mandal, 32, son of Osman Gani Mandal, hailing from Jamtali Tulshipur village in Tangail district, was electrocuted at Puran Bazar Purba Shrimadi of Sadar upazila on Monday morning.
Rahim suffered injuries as he came in contact with a live wire while opening the cable charge from the electricity connection around 10am.
He was taken to Chandpur General Hospital where doctor declared him dead, said Bapan Chakrabarti, sub-inspector of Chanddpur Model Police Station.
In Kachua upazila, Mostofa Majumder, 45, son of Junab Ali died from electrocution at Meghdair in the upazila on Sunday afternoon while he was cutting branches of trees on both sides of the road.
Tree fair begins in Panchagarh

A three-day tree fair was inaugurated at Atowary upazila of the district on Monday, reports BSS.
Atowary upazila administration and agriculture department jointly organised the fair. pazila parishad chairman of Atowary Abdur Rahman formally inaugurated the fair by cutting ribbon as the chief guest.
On the occasion, a discussion meeting was also held on the premises of Agriculture office. Upazila chairman said in his speech that there is no alternative to plant tree. Tree is very important for protect environment. A man should plant at least three tree every year for maintaining ecological balance of the country. Upazila Nirbahi Officer UNO) of Atowary Sarmin Sultana presided over the inaugural function.
Teacher ‘commits suicide’

A teacher committed suicide by hanging himself for being accused in a murder case at Boguladanggi village Thakurgaon sadar upazila yesterday morning.
The deceased was Mohor Ali, 50, of Boguladanggi village in Thakurgaon sadar upazila. He was a teacher and also the headmaster of Boguladanggi High school.
Police and family sources said Mohor Ali closed the door of his bed room after taking supper on Monday night. Family members found his body hanging from the ceiling fan yesterday morning. On information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and send it to Thakurgaon Modern Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Officer-in-charge of Sadar police station Mosiur Rahman said they found a reason behind the suicide. The teacher killed himself for being accused in a murder case. An unnatural death case was filed with Thakurgaon Sadar police station in this connection, the OC added.
