The High Court yesterday granted six months bail to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's adviser Joynal Abedin Farroque and senior vice chairman Barkatullah Bulu in two sabotage cases filed with different police stations of capital Dhaka city, reports UNB. An HC bench of Justice Md. Rezaul Haque and Justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam Sarkar passed the order after hearing the bail petitions.
Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon and Barrister Sakib Mahbub stood for the BNP leaders.
The cases were filed with Mohammadpur and Jatrabari police stations against Bulu and Paltan Police Station against Farooque by the police for instigating violence and arson on public transports during the nearly 3-month blockade imposed by the BNP-led alliance in 2015.
Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon said they could not free from the jail instantly as there were many cases were filed against them.
