RAJSHAHI: Speakers at a discussion here on Thursday urged the service providers to reach the livestock related necessary services to the grassroots growers for boosting the animal resources, particularly livestock and poultry, reports BSS.
They viewed more importance should be given on extending the requisite services like primary treatment, vaccination and farm management so that the farmers are benefited.
The speakers were addressing a daylong training workshop for service providers titled “Capacity Building and Service Market Assessment” at a hotel here.
Practical Action Bangladesh (PAB) and Caritas Bangladesh ,two non-government organizations, jointly organized the workshop in association with Climate Resilient Agriculture Project.
PAB Project Coordinator Mojaharul Islam, President of Kakonhat Fisheries and Livestock Development Society Habibur Rahman and its General Secretary Rahman Habib and Organzing Secretary Mozammel Haque conducted the training sessions as focal persons.
Service Providers Rakibuzzaman, Shefali Begum, Rafiqul Islam and Lipi Khatun also spoke.
The speakers stressed the need for uplifting the livestock sector for food security, self-employment and poverty reduction. They also called for due importance on adopting modern technology, promotion of high yielding varieties and farmers training to overcome the crisis.
