KHULNA: A month-long de-worming albendazole tablet eating campaign began in the city yesterday, reports BSS. Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Moniruzzaman Mony launched the campaign around 9 am at City's 28 no-ward office as the chief guest. He stressed the need for bringing all the children aged between 24 months to 59 months under de-worming programme to reduce different diseases including malnutrition. He said this programme will help to healthcare services for the children and achieved hundred per cent de-worming coverage of the KCC as well. Chaired by the Councilor of 28-no ward Wahedur Rahman Depu, the function was addressed, among others, by panel mayor Ruma Khatun, President of Health Protection Management Standing Committee Sheikh Zahangir Hossain Helal, Chief Health Officer Abdullah, KCC Ward Councilors Shamser Ali Mintu, Humayun Kabir, Rokeya Faruk and Monira Akter. KCC has set a target that a total of 68,000 children under aged between 24 months to 59 months to registered de-warming.
