64 more SUVs for DCs, 50 cars for ministers

The government is providing one more Hilux SUV (sports utility vehicle) to Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Divisional Commissioners at a cost of Tk 70.50 lakh each without inviting tender. While one SUV (Model No. - KH4WGNMZR) would be used during ministers' visits to respective districts as part of protocol, another would be for personal use, sources in the Public Administration Ministry and Government Transport Pool said. A total of 71 Hilux SUVs, 64 for the 64 DCs and seven for Divisional Commissioners, would be purchased from the state-owned vehicle assembly company Pragati Industries Ltd within two months. Besides, 50 more 2000CC hybrid cars would be purchased for the ministers and 34 more jeeps for Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs)…
