Attack on Bogra Shiite mosque kills muazzin
A muazzin was killed and three others were injured after unidentified assailants stormed into a Shiite mosque at Haripur village in Shibganj upazila of Bogra yesterday evening and opened fire on them. The muazzin, a Muslim staff of a mosque who summons the faithful to prayers, was identified as Moazzem Hossain, 75, while the injured were identified as Abu Taher, Shahinur Islam and Aftab Ali.  Shahinur was admitted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital while Aftab and Taher were admitted to the local upazila health complex. Bogra Superintendent of Police Asaduzzaman said a group of 4-5 miscreants entered the mosque and opened fire on the devotees while they were offering their maghrib prayers.
