Khoka jailed for 13 years
A Dhaka court yesterday sentenced BNP leader Sadeque Hossain Khoka to 13 years’ imprisonment in a case for amassing wealth illegally and concealing information regarding wealth, reports UNB. The BNP senior leader was tried in absentia. Judge Abu Ahmed Jamadar of Dhaka Special Judge’s Court-3 handed down the punishment in two segments—ten years’ jail under Section 27 (1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2004 for making wealth through unfair means and three years’ jail under Section 26 (2) of the same law for concealing its information.
